One of the cornerstone locations of Cincinnati ice cream institution Graeter’s will be reopening just in time for Valentine's Day.
The Graeter's shop on Fountain Square has been closed since September 2019 for renovations. The shop is located on the bottom floor of the Fifth Third headquarters building on Fountain Square; the Fifth Third lobby and other parts of the building are also being renovated.
The Fountain Square Graeter’s space has been expanded into the former Servatii space in the building, giving it more seating and storage space. (The pastry shop closed in late 2018.)
"The biggest thing will be more storage, better line flow and more efficiency taking care of our guests," co-owner and chain of retail operations Chip Graeter told The Enquirer last year before the renovation project began.
Graeter's fans can visit the new-look "scoop shop" when it reopens this Friday, Feb. 14 at 11 a.m. The "Graeter family and other key members of the Graeter’s team" will be on hand to celebrate, according to a press release.
"Graeter’s looks forward to continuing to offer a full menu of ice cream treats, frozen drinks, bakery and candy to even more Cincinnati area ice cream fans and residents," the release continues.
