“We are thrilled to be able to provide this support to our small business Merchants, while simultaneously providing our community a convenient way to shop Findlay Market more often,” says Marianne Hamilton, Director of Food Innovation at the Corporation for Findlay Market, in a release.
The Shopping App Fulfillment Center will be located in the old Pho Lang Thang storefront. A grand opening ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. July 12. The first 100 customers to place an order with the app will get a Findlay Market tote bag.
The market initially launched a test version of a shopping app in 2020 to let customers continue to shop during COVID, but discontinued its use in 2021.
The upgraded Findlay Market Shopping App has "brand new features and a much better user experience," per a release, including merchant stories, a wishlist function and the ability to use SNAP benefits.
The market highlights its commitment to equitable food access in the press release, saying it is "passionate about providing an innovative online shopping platform supporting our small business-driven local economy, while making a positive social impact through access to all, one fresh grocery order at a time."
Orders placed on the app are fulfilled Tuesday through Friday, with market pick-up or delivery available from 4-7 p.m. Orders need to be placed at least the evening before desired fulfillment.
