As of today, bean-to-bar craft chocolatier Maverick Chocolate Co. has opened a second location in Rookwood Commons. Just like its flagship shop in Findlay Market which opened in 2014, the Norwood location will double as a retail outlet and chocolate factory — visitors will be separated from gooey, melting and fragrant chocolate by just a glass wall.

The company, which makes everything from chocolate bars to gourmet truffles and winter hot drinking chocolate, was recently named "The Best Chocolate Shop" in Ohio by USA Today and has also won awards at the International Chocolate Awards and Good Food Awards.

“We wanted to recreate the experience of our Findlay Market chocolate factory at Rookwood Commons so we have our cacao roaster in the retail area and the rest of the chocolate making happens just on the other side of a glass wall. We’re excited to soon offer tours and classes,” said Maverick co-founder Paul Picton in a press release.

The Rookwood shop is located at 2651 Edmondson Road, Norwood. For more info, visit maverickchocolate.com.
