Earlier this year, Frisch's Big Boy announced it would be celebrating its 75th anniversary — in part — by adding Nathan's Famous Hot Dogs to the menu for a limited time. So it only makes sense that the local chain would tap the most famous Nathan's fan to appear at the Frisch's anniversary party this weekend.

World champion competitive eater and 15-time winner of Coney Island's annual Nathan's Famous Hot Dog eating contest Joey Chestnut will be paying a visit to Frisch's original Mainliner location in Fairfax on Aug. 13, when the restaurant throws it back to the 1950s for a retro party.

Chestnut will be on hand to sign autographs and put on a special "eating exhibition," gorging on Frisch's hot fudge cakes, according to a release.

Fans can channel their inner Chestnut by enjoying free Nathan's hot dogs from 4-6 p.m.

The anniversary party will also include bonus samples of Frisch's chicken tenders and Coca-Cola floats, face painting, a balloon artist and a photo-op in a vintage Volkswagen bus. Cincy Street Rods will be putting on a classic car show from 4-8 p.m. and there will be additional "celebrity" appearances by the likes of Big Boy, the Coca-Cola Bear and Frankie from Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs.

Frisch's became Frisch's Big Boy in 1947, when local restaurateur David Frisch brought the double-decker Big Boy burger back to Cincinnati from a convention in California. He served it at the Mainliner, Cincinnati's first year-round drive-in that Frisch initially opened in 1939. He topped the burger with his own special tartar sauce and it became a hit.

The Mainliner was named after one of the first tri-motor passenger planes, a replica of which still adorns the restaurant's sign today.

Frisch's is tapping into its retro roots by hosting additional 75th anniversary events this year, including opening a pop-up roller rink at Court Street Plaza downtown on select weekends.

Frisch's 75th anniversary party takes place 4-8 p.m. Aug. 13. The Mainliner is located at 5760 Wooster Pike, Fairfax. More info: frischs.com.
