Bond Hill gourmet dessert shop Davis Cookie Collection is branching out to sell some of its products at a local grocery store.
Starting this weekend, you can get Davis Cookie Collections’ ready-to-use cookie dough at the Oakley Kroger Marketplace. The store will be selling three flavors: Monster Chocolate Chip, Birthday Party and Strawberry Shortcake. You can sample the cookie dough at the store Saturday, April 29 starting at 10:30 a.m.
Davis Cookie Collection is Black-owned and specializes in crafting gourmet cookies, raw cookie dough and cookie cakes. Kroger says the shop is an inaugural graduate of their Multicultural Entrepreneurship Development program. Kroger says its MED program offers local minority business owners the opportunity to learn from Kroger and Procter & Gamble executives on how to scale their business through sales, brand development and distribution.
“The Multicultural Entrepreneurship Development Program has been a key piece in helping us expand our business to retail with Kroger,” Davis Cookie Collection CEO Christina Davis said in a press release. “We are extremely grateful for this opportunity. This has been our dream for years and we’re excited that this will soon be a reality!”
“Kroger is excited to welcome Davis Cookie Collection to our shelves for shoppers to experience the unique southern style recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation,” Jenifer Moore, Kroger’s corporate affairs manager, said in the release. “As a graduate of the inaugural Multicultural Entrepreneurship Development Program, Christina Davis is taking the next step in business expansion into retail.”
