Cincinnati-based Graeter’s Ice Cream paired with a handcrafted milk stout may just be the dessert combo we need to get us through 2021. Lucky for us, two local brands have joined to make this dream a reality.
Graeter’s, now celebrating 151 years of handmade, small-batch ice cream, is collaborating with Braxton Brewing Co. on two complementary items this year based around Graeter's 2021 Mystery Flavor, caramel macchiato.
Starting March 1, that caffeinated breakfast beverage will be transformed into a tempting ice cream at Graeter's. The flavor became popular last summer when Graeter’s first introduced it for a few weeks during its bonus flavor series. Graeter's starts with smooth coffee ice cream, to which toffee pieces and milk chocolate caramel truffles are added.
And now the dessert can be enjoyed with a little something extra for the perfect dessert pairing.
Covington-based Braxton Brewing Co., created a caramel macchiato milk stout to complement Graeter's caramel macchiato ice cream. The limited-time craft drink will combine the sweet flavors from Graeter’s Caramel Macchiato ice cream with Braxton’s “expertly brewed” milk stout.
“It’s always a privilege to partner with such a beloved brand,” says Jake Rouse, co-founder and CEO of Braxton Brewing Co., in a March 1 press release. “The launch of our Caramel Macchiato Milk Stout is a limited run that brings the indulgence Graeter’s does so well to the craft beer Braxton fans love.”
Four-packs with 16-oz. cans are available at select Kroger stores in the Greater Cincinnati area for $9.99. Additionally, fans can visit any Braxton Taprooms to sample the new stout while supplies last.
Pints of Graeter's caramel macchiato ice cream are available beginning March 1 in select grocery stores, including Kroger and Jungle Jim's International Market as well as in Graeter’s online store and scoop shops across the Cincinnati area.
