Graeter’s Ice Cream will celebrate National Ice Cream Day — and the company’s 149th birthday — on July 21 with a one-day promotion: $1.49 single scoop sugar cones at all 55 scoop shops.

“There’s no better time to celebrate America’s favorite sweet treat than on our 149th birthday on National Ice Cream Day,” said Chip Graeter, a fourth-generation owner of Graeter’s Ice Cream, in a press release.

July doubles as National Ice Cream Month and Graeter’s is hosting its National Ice Cream Month coloring contest and offering sweet promotions for its loyalty program.

The Cincinnati staple won't stop celebrating in July, however. It will be releasing a limited flavor every three weeks throughout the rest of the summer. Remaining bonus flavors will be announced on July 15 and Aug. 5. The first three flavors were released in May and June: Malted Pretzel Ball was released May 13, Amaretto Crunch was released June 3 and B105 Honeycomb was released June 24.

Graeter's is also offering its classic summer seasonal flavors like July’s Summer Peach and watermelon sorbet and August’s banana chocolate chip in addition to the limited-edition bonus options.
