Hathaway's Diner in Carew Tower is Closing

Longstanding downtown diner Hathaway's announced its forthcoming closure on Facebook in a post on Jan. 15:

Located in Carew Tower, the nostalgic turquoise-green-and-Formica favorite has been serving up some of the best chocolate milkshakes in the city since the 1950s. While they haven't announced an official closing date yet, the message is "soon."

One could wonder if this has anything to do with the nearby Frisch's opening in Carew? Regardless, this is a piece of Cincinnati history we will be very sad to see go.
