Sunday, Oct. 28 is an evening devoted to dinner, drinks and dogs (what could be better?). Cocktails & Canines is a fundraising and pet adoption event which raises money for the Bellevue Dog Park.

The small dog park will be located off of Van Voast Avenue, in Bellevue, Ky. and funds raised at the event will go toward purchasing water, benches and fencing for the park.

The event will have pets available for adoption from local rescue groups that guests can meet.

Tickets cost $30 and dinner provided by Newport Syndicate is included in the ticket cost. Special cocktails made with Maker's 46 bourbon and Sipsmith London gin (who are sponsors of the event) and wine will be available during the cash bar Yappy Hour from 5-6 p.m. and throughout the evening. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with a costume contest to follow.

Guests participating in the pet costume contest (make sure to RSVP) are welcome to bring their furry friend along to the event. There will be three categories; best costume, best owner and pet costumes and best rescue story. The winner of each category will receive a prize from Barket Place, a pet supply store based out of Covington, which will be handing out samples throughout the evening.

In addition to the costume contest, guests can participate in the silent auction for tickets to New Year's Eve at the Newport Syndicate, Murder Mystery events, Gangster Walking Tours, dinners, a pet photoshoot gift certificate and other items provided from the Bellevue community.

5-9 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28. $30 per person. Newport Syndicate, 18 E Fifth St., Newport, Ky. Click here to purchase tickets.
