Moerlein Lager House's Fire & Ice Weekends To Feature Ice Bar With Drink Luge, Fire Performers and Heated Igloos

Moerlein Lager House will host Fire & Ice every Friday and Saturday throughout February.

It's a clash of opposites that will lead to a lot of fun: Throughout February, Moerlein Lager House in Downtown Cincinnati will host Fire & Ice weekends, a special event featuring an outdoor ice bar, ice sculptures, fire pits and fire performers.

Fire & Ice will happen on Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30-10 p.m. throughout the month. The event is free to attend, but there will also be heated igloos, which can hold up to 14 people, available to rent. Igloo sessions will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. You can reserve those here.

An event description says fire performers will light up the beer gardens nightly as they perform on lighted podiums. Food will be available both inside and outside Moerlein, but an ice bar, complete with a drink luge and ice displays, will be set up outside. Mixologist Molly Wellmann has also curated special Fire & Ice-themed cocktails for the event.

Wellmann will also be hosting themed dinners on Saturdays, Feb. 4, 11 and 18. Tickets are $79 and include a three-course dinner featuring a special Fire & Ice menu crafted by chef Nathan Whittington and three specialty cocktails from Wellmann. Guests will also get to enjoy a special LED light presentation from the Fire & Ice performers.

The themed dinners will have two seatings: one at 5:30 p.m. and another at 8 p.m. You can buy tickets here.

Braxton Brewing Co.27 W. Seventh St., CovingtonKeep cozy in one of 10 heated rooftop igloos, featuring a ski-resort theme. Order food, like the new butter board or beer cheese, cocktails and Braxton brews. You can reserve an igloo for $35 for a two-and-a-half-hour time slot. Each one seats up to eight people and includes a Bluetooth speaker.

deSha’s American Tavern11320 Montgomery Road, Symmes TownshipWith its lodge-like setting and fireplace, deSha’s is also amping up cozy season vibes with private dining igloos on their patio. “Each igloo features a heated fireplace, air purifier, festive string lights, lanterns, and plants for a cozy ambiance,” says deSha’s. The igloos are $25 to reserve for lunch, $40 for dinner Sunday through Thursday and $50 on Fridays and Saturdays. They’re recommended for up to six guests, but can seat up to eight for families with small children. Call 513-247-9933 to make a reservation.
