Farmer Nate Nunemaker of Farmer Nate's Sauce Co. has built a good reputation as a purveyor of delicious hot sauces, but he's taken his first step into the taco seasoning game with "Covington Gold Dust."
The new seasoning tin, available for sale on the company's website, is a decently spicy blend of onion, chili, paprika and garlic powders, ground oregano, hickory smoked salt and, for the heat, cayenne peppers that Farmer Nate grew, harvested and dehydrated himself. It's a great addition to any veggies or proteins you'd like on a tortilla and, not surprisingly, pairs really well with the curry jalapeno Farmer Nate bottles, if you like your meal to have a kick.
To promote his new taco seasoning, Farmer Nate premiered a commercial on his social media pages, a classic old timey Western-themed advertisement that was beautifully shot and edited by local filmmaker Sean Highley, with the script written by Sean McGee.
In the commercial, you see Farmer Nate stoically walk through the wilderness as a narrator doing their best Sam Elliott impression talks about the farmer's "Midas touch" that turns everything to gold. At just 56 seconds long, it manages to show a lot of talent behind the camera.
If you can't wait until Taco Night to try this seasoning, it's a wonderful complement to pizza parties, pot roasts or anything you'd like to spice up. Try it on a scoop of ice cream and let Farmer Nate know how that goes.
