Chefs Mitch Arens (formerly of Coppin's at Hotel Covington) and Stephen Williams (Bouquet Restaurant & Wine Bar) have teamed up to launch The Kitchen by Butler's Pantry, a new breakfast, brunch and lunch spot at Covington's RiverCenter Towers. Plans for dinner service are in the works, according to a release.

The Kitchen by Butler's Pantry is part of Arens' and Williams' new restaurant group, named Y’all Hospitality, which also includes Butler’s Pantry, Fire, Bouquet and Spoon — another eatery which is slated to open later in 2020.

The Kitchen by Butler's Pantry is helmed by chef Kyle Roberts, who has spent time at Mita's, The Mercer and Williams' Bouquet.

The concept, according to the release, uses locally sourced ingredients to create Southern classics. Menu items include: The Kitchen “Benedict” (toast, braised greens, cottage ham, poached eggs), stuffed French toast (Sixteen Bricks challah bread, butternut squash cream cheese, brown sugar tuile) and the Southern Sink (cheddar grits, corned beef, poblano relish, herb salad, over-easy egg) among others, including goetta balls with chow chow sloppy sauce.

“The kitchen is where people congregate to catch up over food and drinks. We want our guests to take a seat at a table in our kitchen and relax while we prepare their meal,” says Roberts in the release. “We’re getting back to scratch-made cooking, embracing Southern flavors and bringing them to a higher level by using quality locally sourced ingredients. We’re cooking for our guests with the same care we use when we cook for our friends and family.”

The Kitchen will also feature weekend brunch, with a build-your-own bloody mary and mimosa bar.

Additional team members include Director of Hospitality Barbara Valpreda, who has worked with Boca Restaurant Group and Jose Salazar, and General Manager Brian Firth, who worked with Jean-Robert de Cavel.

The Kitchen by Butler's Pantry is located at 50 E. RiverCenter Blvd., Covington. Free parking for guests is available on a surface lot across the street. More if at facebook.com/TheKitchenbyButlersPantry.
