The experimental extension of Covington's Braxton Brewing Company, Braxton Labs, is celebrating its first anniversary on May 19.

Located inside the Party Source in Bellevue/Newport, Ky., the brewery is releasing a special 500ml bottle of its popular Strawberry Gose to commemorate the occasion. The kettle-soured, imperial-style gose has a citrusy profile and 1.3 pounds-per-gallon of strawberry puree. The bottles will be released at 11 a.m. on May 19 for $6.99 per bottle or $24.99 for four.

“I can’t believe Braxton Labs has been open for a year,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company co-founder and chief executive officer in a press release. “It’s been filled with learning, experiments, projects and a lot of awesome memories. We’re excited to share one of our most successful projects, the Strawberry Gose, with everyone in bottles.”

The anniversary event will also feature a full 42 taps of Braxton beers — from the Labs, Braxton's core lineup, seasonals and one-day-only specials. In addition to beer, there will be live music and food trucks.

11 a.m.-11 p.m. May 19. Free admission. Braxton Labs, 95 Riviera Drive, Newport, facebook.com/braxtonlabs.
