Much of humanity's "quarantime" was spent exploring new hobbies and binge-watching TV shows and movies — both old and new. And one particular throwback reality television series was, in fact, the inspiration behind Jerry's Jug House's upcoming pop-up.
The Newport bar is hosting a "Friday 'Sunday Dinner,' Jersey Shore Edition," tonight (Sept. 11) to celebrate the greased up, skin-scorched series, which bartender Amelia Cortez renewed her infatuation with over the quarantine, watching it three times since March, according to event page.
"It is now a part of her — so much so that she has a cocktail special and experience for you," the Facebook event page reads.
The pop-up will offer the series' signature Ron Ron Juice, made with fresh watermelon, cherries, cranberry and vodka, which apparently tastes so good it "might make you fist pump dance, or fight your best friend, or cry, or all three."
In addition to sips, they will have scratch-made "large and in charge" spicy meatballs made in the kitchen of Northside Yacht Club, which co-owner of Jerry's Jug House Stuart MacKenzie also co-owns. The meatballs will be available served over pasta for $10 or two for $5.
According to MacKenzie, they reached out to Snooki and Ron in hopes for a cameo, but sadly they both declined the opportunity.
Friday's 'Sunday Dinner' will run from 7-10 p.m. at Jerry's Jug House, located at 414 E. Seventh St. in Newport.
