Ludlow, Kentucky's Bircus Brewing Company is hosting an extra-special Halloween event: A Haunted Steampunk Ball on Nov. 1.

Bircus, pronounced "beer-cuss," is a hybrid both in name and vision of the concepts of beer and the circus — the brewery shares the limelight with carnival performances at the taproom. As one might expect, the Halloween ball fits that carnival theme with a wild night full of entertainment including a sideshow, freakshow, tarot card readings, Scary Stories performed live, vendors, games and DJ Jay Kay spinning New Wave, Goth and early Hip Hop. There will also be a costume contest with prizes for the winners.

Tickets to the event cost $10 and doors open at 7 p.m. The event runs 8 p.m.-12:30 a.m.

There are limited vendor opportunities and vending fee costs $50 for an 8'x8' space. The vending application is due by Oct. 27.
