Greater Cincinnati’s first and only dedicated cidery has expanded its operations to now offer its ciders in cans.
Norwood's Northwood Cider Company is releasing its first canned ciders with a launch party in their taproom Saturday, April 15, from 4 p.m. to close. The “extravaCANza” includes the release of six canned ciders, a food truck, games and prizes.
“Since day one, we’ve had customers asking for our ciders to be canned, and we are now able to provide them to our customers and to the wider region. We are looking forward to sharing these five ciders, and even more throughout the year with customers that visit our taproom or buy their ciders from other establishments,” Joe Klare, co-owner of Northwood said in a release.
The six canned ciders include Northwood’s 1903 dry cider; Gem, a golden traditional sweet cider; Patch, a semi-dry blueberry and blackberry cider with notes of basil; Squeeze, a sweet, pink-lemonade-esque brew; the semi-dry Coastal, made with blood oranges and pineapples for a taste of the tropics; and HLA, a tart dry cider that drinks like dry rosé or orange wine.
“We take pride in using only 100% fresh pressed apples, never from concentrate, as well as fresh fruits, botanicals, and spices. We’ve been able to show customers, whether they are regular cider drinkers or not, that cider can be complex, have different levels of sweetness, and is approachable,” co-owner Darrin Wilson said in the release.
Northwood’s canned ciders will be available on shelves in Southwest Ohio shortly after the launch party.
