Our Daily Bread soup kitchen and social center in Over-the-Rhine needs your help.
Due to the rising COVID case count in Cincinnati, they are losing staff and volunteers who have either been exposed to the virus or are sick and are asking the public to make sandwiches at home.
"We distribute up to 600 sandwiches a day, Monday-Friday. We include them alongside hot meals as part of snack bags so that guests still have something to eat after service hours," the nonprofit says in an email. "It would be hugely helpful for members of our community to assemble meat or PB&J sandwiches."
If you can help, details and sign-ups are available at ourdailybread.us. Each slot is for 100 sandwiches.
For contactless drop-off, you can pull your car up to their donation door on Goose Alley — right across from Findlay Market, off Race Street — and ring the buzzer. Staff will come unload your trunk.
