A hot dog at Senate — not the Croque Madame

Over-the-Rhine and Blue Ash-based eatery Senate will be featured on the Cooking Channel's The Best Thing I Ever Ate TV show.

According to a post on Senate's Facebook page, Leroy Ansley, executive chef of the Queen City Hospitality Group, which encompasses Senate, Abigail Street, Forty Thieves and Pontiac, will appear on the program. It airs 9 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25.

The show description is: "Ever wonder what the biggest food stars and chefs eat in their free time — when they're paying? Find out on The Best Thing I Ever Ate! It's the ultimate guide to the country's most-amazing meals, eats and treats as told by the pros who spend their lives obsessing over food."

And based on this video from the channel's website, it looks like they're probably featuring Senate's Croque Madame hot dog: an all-beef hot dog with bechamel, Sky Haven Farm ham and a poached egg on a brioche bun.

Senate is located at 1212 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine. Senate Blue Ash is located 1100 Summit Place Drive, Blue Ash.
