The team behind Gorilla Cinema Presents, known for their film-inspired bars like Video Archive and Tokyo Kitty and popular experiential events, is inviting folks to enjoy the essence of the outdoors — indoors — in their most recent pop-up series.
Up in the Woods is an "intimate" cocktail experience that takes place at Pleasant Ridge's The Overlook Lodge where owner Jacob Trevino takes participants on a trip that "pushes the boundaries of nature and cocktails with the Overlook Lodge’s immersive Camp Overlook as the backdrop."
The event lasts for an hour and a half, during which Trevino and his guests embark on a voyage utilizing sights, sounds and smells — as well as themed cocktails and lite bites — to venture into the "woods."
The pop-up is an extension of the bar's Camp Overlook To-Go, which offers cocktails and trail mixes that are perfect for watching your favorite horror films at home.
The limited ticketed event takes place on eight dates throughout June and has space for 10 people per event.
As of June 10, there are still three dates available to participate. Tickets cost $50 and can be purchased online.
Two additional notes from the bar:
Due to high pollen count guests are encouraged, although not required to wear masks
Any special or dietary requests must be emailed to [email protected] after tickets have been purchased.
