Postmark Restaurant in Clifton Gaslight Has Permanently Closed

The upscale eatery, led by the team behind Oakley's Red Feather Kitchen, has closed. But they'll be focusing their efforts on (re)opening a version of Dutch's Larder in July.

Clifton Gaslight's sophisticated fine dining eatery Postmark has announced its closure.

The restaurant, helmed by chef Brad Bernstein of Red Feather Kitchen, opened in 2017, closed briefly in 2019 and reopened after a few months with a focus on private events and dinner series. After the pandemic hit in March of 2020, the restaurant temporarily closed and reopened in the late summer as a bottle shop and then eventually began offering carry-out and dine-in service.

The team behind the restaurant announced via a Facebook post on June 16 that they have made the decision to close Postmark, and are gearing up to open their newest endeavor in July.

"After critical reflection and thought to our future, it is best to focus our time, talents, and treasure on the opportunities ahead of us. We leave knowing that better things are to come. As one door closes another opens — and although we are saddened by this closure, we are also excited to announce the opening of Dutch's Larder in July," the post reads.

"We can’t thank you enough for your continued support. It means the world to Rachael, myself, and our entire team. We look forward to seeing you at Red Feather and Dutch’s."

Longtime Hyde Park staple Dutch's Larder closed its doors at the beginning of 2020 due to professional and personal changes among the three former partners.

Bernstein acquired the establishment in the summer of 2020 and plans to maintain a similar business model — excellent eats and drinks, plus farm-to-table goods and artisan products so that guests can "shop like a chef," Bernstein told CityBeatin an interview last August.
