Locally based Queen City Hemp — America's first producer of CBD seltzer — announced that it will be BLINK Cincinnati's non-alcoholic drink sponsor, with plans to roll out new experimental flavors for the large-scale event: ginger, pink grapefruit, key lime meringue and dragonfruit.
Of those flavors, one will be packaged for a limited release later this year. BLINK attendees are being asked to vote for their fave either in-person or on Queen City Hemp's social media pages. You can take a sip yourself in the Findlay Market Biergarten, where a Queen City Hemp light display will also be on-site.
BLINK — the free light, art and projection mapping experience — will span 30 city blocks through Over-the-Rhine, downtown and, new this year, across the Roebling Bridge and into Covington. Immersive and otherworldly, the four-day event (Oct. 10-13) returns after its wildly popular inaugural run in 2017 with new murals, installations, interactive sculptures, performance art, a 3,200-participant-led parade, live entertainment and more.
Produced by local creative agencies Brave Berlin, AGAR and ArtWorks, with support from a number of sponsors, BLINK envisions Cincinnati as a "future city." It makes sense, then, that Queen City Hemp's CBD Seltzer's trendy product would be their drink of choice.
Queen City Hemp's CBD-infused standard flavors include blood orange, passion fruit, guava and lemon lavender. First released at 2017's Taste of Cincinnati, each 12-ounce can contains 5 milligrams of hemp-derived CBD (one of over 100 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant), which is legal in every U.S. state. Other ingredients include carbonated water, natural flavors and potassium sorbate.
“This is our first year as the non-alcoholic beverage sponsor of BLINK Cincinnati," the company said in a statement. "To celebrate, we’ve concocted four exotic and delicious new Queen City Hemp CBD Seltzer flavors just for BLINK attendees. It’s a fun way to demonstrate our own artistry and give back to the community right here at Findlay Market where our company got its start.”
These seltzer waters won't get you intoxicated — all you're likely to feel is an extra dose of relaxation as you stroll through a cityscape transformed.
