It’s baaaack.

Don’t be alarmed: We’re only talking about the return of Rhinegeist’s Rare Beer Fest.

Craft beer guzzlers, rejoice. This fest is heavily curated to bring you “the extraordinary, the unobtainable and the unexpected,” according to a press release. On Oct. 20, 50 breweries from across the nation will flock to Rhinegeist Brewery to show off their — hence the fest’s name — rarest brews, some of which have yet to make it Ohio.

During their first fest last year, they sold out. This year, they’re expanding. Now Rhinegeist will host two sessions; one from noon-4 p.m. and the other from 6-10 p.m.

General admission ($40) will buy you 10 5-ounce samples and a tasting notebook. VIP tickets ($65) include 10 5-ounce samples, a tasting notebook, commemorative glass and four additional tastings accompanied by a food pairing. Plus, info sessions with visiting brewery representatives.

If you still want a taste of the local beer scene, fret no more; there will be a “Local Rare Beer Bar” on-site serving up drinks from Queen City’s own.
