Monroe's Rivertown Brewing Company is launching Lumin, a spiked sparkling mineral water, which is set to hit Cincinnati and Dayton area shelves on June 17.
Lumin’s mineral water, which is one of just four ingredients alongside cane sugar, yeast and natural fruit flavors, is sourced from the Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer and blended with a Tuscan-inspired mineral profile.
“We wanted to focus on the taste and profile of the water being used while hitting all the expectations that consumers have come to love about the Hard Water Category (low calorie/carbs/sugar/gluten-free),” said Jason Roeper, co-owner of the Rivertown Brewing Company, in a press release.
The 90-calorie beverage will be available in two flavors: cucumber lime and passion fruit yuzu. Lumin will also be gluten-free, 5.5 percent alcohol by volume and have less than 2 grams of carbs and sugar.
“Lumin was born out of a need that began in our taproom and restaurant. We wanted to have a gluten-free option for our guests and knew we could push the limits far beyond a cider. The challenge was presented to our brewing team in late August of 2018 and the results exceeded all our expectations. We’ve have been testing this at Rivertown as well as out in the market since December 2018 and the reviews have been rave,” said co-owner Lindsey Roeper in the same release.
Though Lumin’s official release is still nearly two weeks out, those with an unquenchable hankering for the spiked mineral water can already find it at select markets including Rivertown's Brewery & Barrel House, Crown Republic Gastropub, Sotto, Igby’s, Wyoming Community Coffee, Station BBQ, Brentwood Wine & Spirits and Marty’s Hops & Vines.
