Since opening downtown's Crown Republic Gastropub last summer, the Sitek family has established a strong following and reputation for top-notch hospitality and inventive, made-from-scratch dishes.
They announced in a press release on the morning of Aug. 27 that they will be taking over the space formerly known as Anchor OTR and reinventing it as a boutique steakhouse, with plans to open this October.
The name of the restaurant has yet to be announced, but guests can expect steaks-by-the-ounce, seafood, frites and a selection of their beloved homemade pastas from Crown Republic's menu.
The steakhouse will be revamping the space to offer a non-traditional take on the typical white-tablecloth concept.
“We want to reimagine the steakhouse concept of yesterday for today,” says Chef Anthony Sitek in a press release. “We want to create something approachable, more intimate, and community driven with a chef-lead culinary focus.”
The space will feature casual seating arrangements for diners, a bar centered around laid-back conversation and a beautiful patio overlooking Washington Park and Music Hall.
"Indoors or outdoors, at the bar or at a banquette, diners can count on exceptional family-like service, expertly crafted cocktails, and refreshing takes on tried-and-true steakhouse classics," the press release states.
The restaurant will be located at 1401 Race Street in Over-the-Rhine.
