Downtown eatery CRZY MONK, from the team behind Lalo and the now-closed Hop Ping Hog, has announced it will not reopen in its current space.
The restaurant, known for healthy Asian fare, was originally located on Main Street but was forced to find a new home when their landlord asked them to leave at the height of the pandemic. The eatery moved to East Court Street in January, but shortly after their move, construction began for the recently-opened pedestrian-friendly Court Street Plaza, forcing them to close indefinitely.
In Facebook posts and a GoFundMe, CRZY MONK expressed their plans to reopen after the construction wrapped up, but in an announcement on June 18, the restaurant explained that they had to give up their East Court Street location, with hopes to find a new, potentially shared kitchen to operate from.
The restaurant group's other beloved eatery Lalo also recently moved from Main Street to Court Street, into the former Fiery Hen space. And in Hop Ping Hog's space, the group just opened a burger and frappe-centric spot called Bebo's Burgers & Frappes.
