You a sausage person? Get excited — because we've got some sausage news.

There's a new meaty merchant opening up in the Findlay Market market house, going in where Kroeger & Sons Meats was previously located.

LK, from Ryan Lillis and John Knodel (the L and the K), will open on Saturday, May 2 and serve 40 varieties of handcrafted sausage, plus smoked meat, fresh pork products and seasonal specials.

Lillis comes from a Findlay family line — his mother's family owned a produce stand at the market and he worked at Eckerlin Meats, which is owned by his uncle and cousin, for 15 years. According to a press release, he met Knodel at Eckerlin and they became friends and started a fun tradition called "Pork of July," wherein they celebrate pork — we assume by eating it.

"John and I are thrilled for the opportunity to honor Cincinnati's pork and sausage heritage. We look forward to providing customers handmade sausages including traditional favorites, new products, and outstanding service," says Lillis in the release.

Because of the current shopping climate, opening celebrations will be held off until later this summer, but patrons can start purchasing items like vidalia onion sausage, spinach and artichoke chicken sausage, Italian sausage, and bacon and potato bombs this weekend.
