Grilled cheese and tomato soup (and grilled cheese donut) chain Tom & Chee is giving back the the community when patrons order online for carry-out, curbside pick-up or dine-in for Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1.

The chain's One Day Online Fundraising campaign will donate 20% of all curbside pick-up, carry-out and dine-in sales preordered online before the fundraiser date to the selected nonprofit partner for that day. Orders placed online the day of the fundraiser will generate a 15% donation.

"Nonprofits across Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are working tirelessly to support our communities," reads a release from Tom & Chee. "The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and rise in awareness regarding the issues affecting many of our underserved communities both locally and nationwide led Tom & Chee to create a fundraising initiative to help these organizations through this extraordinary time in our history."

Proceeds from Tuesday, June 30 will go to Maslow's Army, a nonprofit that works to provide necessary and emergency services to those experiencing homelessness. A release from Tom & Chee says, "Having already sheltered 229 individuals, families and veterans experiencing homelessness since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Maslow’s Army will use the funds raised to support mission-critical items to transition people to stable housing. This includes providing security deposits, utility deposits and first month rent payments as well as furniture needs for families transitioning into permanent housing."

Proceeds from Wednesday, July 1 will go to the Cincinnati Children's Charitable Fund to "reduce
the financial burden on families and allow them to focus on the most important thing — their children." Tom & Chee says, "The fund provides financial assistance to working families with children who have complex medical conditions and are facing additional hardships — like job layoffs and lost health insurance.  As a result of COVID-19, more and more families are requesting support from the fund."
