LOCOBA, the coffee, beer and spirits lounge conceptualized by Cleveland-based craft brewer Platform Beer Co., is celebrating its one-year anniversary of operation in Over-the-Rhine. The weeklong party starts Sunday, Feb. 17.
LOCOBA, which stands for “local coffee barrels," opened last year on Main Street as a Platform "tasting room." The space serves breakfast and café-style foods with a drink menu of Platform brews on tap and in cans, plus cocktails and a full-service coffee and espresso bar.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Feb. 17, LOCOBA visitors will be the first to try Platform’s "inaugural batch" of bourbon barrel aged coffee made with Cincinnati's Proud Hound Coffee, an ethical roaster based out of Silverton (with very well-designed bags). You can grab some breakfast, try the coffee and celebrate local business. Be one of the first 100 guests and you'll receive a novelty Platform latte mug.
If you can’t make it to the celebration, the new coffee will be available to try all week during normal coffee hours: 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
In addition to the celebration, LOCOBA is updating its weekly event schedule. On Nonprofit Tuesdays, $1 from every beer sold from 3 p.m. to close will be donated to a local nonprofit; in 2019, Platform donated more than $1,000 to 16 Greater Cincinnati organizations. Wednesdays are Game Night in the Vault Room. Thursdays offer $3 craft beer from 3 p.m. to close. And on Sunday, it's all-day happy hour with trivia beginning at 7 p.m.
