Zach Weprin, his brother Josh and their friend Stephan Harman — three twentysomethings who grew up together — are business guys. When they started Soho Sushi (28 W. Fourth St., Downtown, 513-421-7646) last year, it wasn’t on a whim. They were hoping to be the next big thing and it looks like they’re headed that way.

According to Zach, business is going really well and they’re all very excited about Soho’s future. With sales going up, the trio is talking about expanding the restaurant, but it won’t be called Soho Sushi by then. Details are currently being finalized and a new name for the establishment is expected to be announced very soon (keep an eye on www.easycasualsushi.com or the Soho Sushi Facebook page for the latest on the name switcheroo).

“Word of mouth is bringing people in,” Zach says, “and we convert a lot of people to liking sushi. If you like rice, then I can guarantee I can make you a roll you’ll love.”

CityBeat: What was the last great meal you ate and where did you eat it?
Zach Weprin
: A corned beef sandwich at Rascal’s Deli in Blue Ash. I’m a huge fan. It’s my favorite place. Their corned beef is the best in town. Top quality, just incredible. The Reuben is amazing.

CB: You guys use a lot of familiar cooked meats at Soho — steak, chicken, fried shrimp. Do you think you could come up with Reuben sushi?
ZW
: No! (laughing) We want to standardize. We want our sushi to be delicious but predictable. Our background is in business. We know that consistent product means repeat customers, and we want our business to be a success.
