Locally based independent label Grasshopper Juice Records has been presenting the Adjust Your Eyes Music & Art Festival since 2006. The fest has grown from being a single-location event to its current status as an all-neighborhood (mostly Northside) showcase with multiple venues. Along with showcasing some of the city’s most creative original music makers, the event has raised thousands of dollars for local charitable organizations; the 2019 AYE fest this Friday and Saturday (Chameleon begins its AYE programming Thursday) is raising funds (via on-site donations) for the nonprofit Women Helping Women health org.

AYE has long been notable for its eclectic lineup and this year is no different, showcasing Hip Hop, EDM, Hard Rock, Indie Rock, Americana and various other styles. This year’s fest is also again heavy on Greater Cincinnati acts, with some touring artists sprinkled in; there will be various local artists doing lights/projection art at several of the showcases, as well. The full schedule is below.

Participating venues for this year’s AYE are The Comet (4579 Hamilton Ave., cometbar.com); Northside Yacht Club (4227 Spring Grove Ave., northsideyachtclub.com); Chameleon (4114 Hamilton Ave., chameleonpizza.com); Junkers Tavern (4156 Langland St., facebook.com/northsidecincy); and Mixwells (4169 Hamilton Ave., mixwellsnorthside.com). This year also sees the addition of a nearby-but-not-Northside venue, Taft’s Brewpourium (4831 Spring Grove Ave., Winton Place, facebook.com/TaftsBrewpourium).

Most AYE events are free. Find more info at adjustyoureyes.com and facebook.com/AYEmusicandartfestival.
