PromoWest, the Ohio-based promotions company behind Cincinnati's Bunbury Music Festival, probably isn’t too thrilled with Pop Rock faves blink-182. The trio canceled their 2018 headlining slot at Bunbury at the last minute but promised they’d be back to headline the 2019 fest.
But blink blanked on the 2019 festival as well, citing conflicts with recording sessions for a new album.
Local fans disappointed in the group get some good news today, though. Blink’s tour with revered Hip Hop star Lil Wayne is coming to Riverbend Music Center on Sept. 16. Neck Deep will open the show.
Tickets for the concert go on sale Friday, May 10 at noon via ticketmaster.com.
Lil Wayne has worked with blink-182 drummer Travis Barker in the past, so it seems likely there will be at least a little crossover between the co-headliners sets. In the tour announcement video, Wayne and blink teamed up for a mash-up of their songs “What’s My Age Again?” and “A Milli."
The extensive joint tour begins and ends in Ohio. The first date (June 27) is at Columbus' Nationwide Arena and the Riverbend show is the final concert of the tour.
