Saturday, July 27, compelling local Indie Rock group Sylmar is taking over Main Street in Over-the-Rhine (well, at least about a block of it) to celebrate the release of its new five-track EP, Telford. A press release for the EP says it reflects “a relaxed less fortified approach to writing” and is a collection of tracks the band members have been working on and reworking over the past two years.

Sylmar has released a pair of singles from the EP so far — "Nonnude" and, most recently, "Littering Findlay."

The band is headlining Woodward Theater (1404 Main St., woodwardtheater.com) Saturday with special guests This Pine Box and Louisville’s Bendigo Fletcher. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door (a copy of Telford on CD is included with the price of admission). Music at the Woodward begins at 8 p.m.

At 10 p.m., the fun continues across the street at MOTR Pub (1345 Main St., motrpub.com). The free release party extension will have performances from locals In The Pines and Flocks and a crossover set featuring local Hip Hop artists Audley and Ronin Halloway. Cleveland’s The Katy and Lexington, Kentucky’s Joslyn & The Sweet Compression will also play the MOTR show.

You can find Sylmar’s music on most major digital platforms. For more info, visit thesylmarband.com.
