Immersive Atlanta premiered the new animated music video by Cincinnati Indie Rock group Ampline today. The clip is for the high-octave, short-but-sweet track "Shrunken Heads" off of the veteran trio's latest album, Passion Relapse. With a run-time of just under a minute, the cool, weird animation syncs up well with Ampline's blast of Post Punk adrenaline.

CityBeat chatted with Ampline this past winter about Passion Relapse and how it reflected the energy of the band's live show, something "Shrunken Heads" has in spades.

“I think the underlying root of it all was that we wanted to make a record that sounded like us, like we sound live,” bassist Kevin Schmidt said. “No ProTools, no curving the edge of every tom (drum) hit. We’re a live band.”

The "Shrunken Heads" music video release comes ahead of Ampline's appearance at Georgia's Athens Pop Festival this Thursday. Also appearing at the festival are Guided By Voices, The Mummies, Ex Hex, Elf Power, His Name Is Alive, Man or Astroman? and many others.
