Love Christmas music but hate cold winter weather? Two Cincinnati musicians —Scotty McEvoy (The SunBurners) and Mark Becknell (Queen City Silver Stars) — have devised just the event for you this Thursday, Dec. 20 at The Redmoor (3187 Linwood Ave., Mount Lookout, theredmoor.com).
“Island Christmas Holiday LIVE” will feature The Merry Gentlemen, a new band with members of the two musicians’ tropical-themed groups (think Reggae, Soca, Calypso and other music that reminds people of far warmer climates) playing holiday classics and even a couple of original songs.
The 7 p.m. show will also include an appearance from the Young Professionals Choral Collective, a “drumming Santa Claus” and other irie island vibes.
