Arnold’s Bar and Grill is preparing a Thanksgiving Eve event that owner Chris Breeden is claiming to be one of the “coolest” things it has ever done.
Arnold’s – Cincinnati’s oldest continuously operating bar – is teaming up with Maker’s Mark, Neltner Small Batch Records and Maria Carrelli to present “Thanksgiving Eve with Maria Carrelli.” The album release party promises a limited edition vinyl giveaway for the first 150 guests, free entry, live music, Maker’s Mark cocktail specials and Maker’s Mark infused entree specials.
In April, Carrelli recorded her latest album live at Arnold’s. Nobody’s Fool | Recorded Live at Arnold’s April 1 2023 will be released on Nov. 22 during the event, while Carrelli performs live. The first 150 guests will receive a free, “super” limited edition vinyl, hand-pressed by Musicol Vinyl Pressing & Recording Studios in Columbus.
Carrelli is known for her bluegrass roots and classic country/folk sound. Her lively stage presence and smooth vocals, combined with musicianship and charisma, will make the perfect pre-holiday party. Arnold’s has put together a can’t-miss event on one of the biggest bar nights of the year at one of Cincinnati’s oldest bars with Cincinnati’s folk music sweetheart.
In addition to the giveaway, more rare vinyl copies of Carrelli’s live album will be available for purchase. According to a press release, a total of 550 records were pressed, 150 on opaque red vinyl (the giveaway copies only available at Arnold’s), 250 pressed on coke bottle clear and pink split vinyl, 25 glow in the dark copies and 100 transparent green vinyl (available to and sold by Carrelli only). Some of the coke bottle clear and pink splits will appear in record stores like Shake It Records, Everybody's Records, Plaid Room Records, Torn Light Records, Phil's Records, Hail Records and Oddities, Morrow Records, Black Plastic Records, Hey Suburbia Records, Three Feathers Records and Spiral Groove Records.
“These aren’t just regular albums. There is a ton of work that goes into them. Releasing these Thanksgiving Eve albums for free has been a passion project for Arnold’s owner Chris Breeden and celebrated graphic designer Keith Neltner for over 5 years now,” the press release says. “They handle every aspect of this release from the vinyl pressing all the way to stuffing the records into the sleeves at the end. The project actually won multiple Cincinnati Addy awards over the years as well.”
Nobody’s Fool | Recorded Live at Arnold’s April 1 2023 was printed at Otto Printing in Newport, which employed a UV printing process that the press release claims to have not been done on a record jacket before.
"Maker’s Mark Presents: Thanksgiving Eve with Maria Carrelli" is at Arnold’s Bar and Grill on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. For more information about the event, visit Arnold’s Facebook page.
