German-inspired pub and eatery Wunderbar in Covington (and its sister spot Peppe Cucina) closed on April 20 with a post on Facebook saying, "Well guys due to unforeseen circumstances Wunderbar and Peppe Cucina will be closing for the foreseeable future."

Later, owner Nathan Chambers referred the circumstances as a dissolution of a business partnership in a GoFundMe page for the restaurant.

Then came the coronavirus pandemic.

As of right now, the team has raised more than $20,000 to their $50,000 goal, with the fundraiser description stating, "The dissolution of a business partnership can be rough. Dissolution of a business partnership during a global pandemic with the business having to close its doors and layoff off it's workforce can be catastrophic. With no PPP granted and bills stacking up we've decided to launch this fundraising campaign. All funds raised will be used to pay down bills, restock food, restock liquor, help employees with any financial hardship they may have, and make repairs to broken equipment."

Cincy Groove is hosting a two-day streaming music fest this weekend — Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30 — to help them toward their goal.

Nineteen bands will be playing over two days at facebook.com/cincygroovemusic. The show is free but you are encouraged to donate something to the restaurant's GoFundMe or Paypal @[email protected]
