Although it’s only been two years since the formation of D.R.U.G.S. (stand down, Million Mom outragists — the name’s an acronym for Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows), the Post Hardcore quintet runs on a wealth of individual experience. Vocalist Craig Owens founded D.R.U.G.S. in late 2009 after he was bounced as Chiodos’ frontman, putting together a dream team of modern Rock talent — Underminded guitarist/vocalist Nick Martin, Matchbook Romance guitarist/vocalist Aaron Stern, Story of the Year bassist Adam Russell and From First to Last drummer Matt Good.

D.R.U.G.S. signed to Sire/Decaydance and dropped its eponymous debut last February to kick off what turned out to be a big year. In addition to headlining UK/US tours, D.R.U.G.S. played the main stage for virtually all of last summer’s Vans Warped Tour dates.

While the band has been concentrating on recording its sophomore album, significant changes have occurred. The group severed ties with Warner Brothers/Sire, then, just last month, Owens reluctantly announced Russell’s amicable departure to pursue other projects (for this tour and possibly beyond, he’ll be replaced by Four Letter Lies’ Tai Wright).
When the question is “D.R.U.G.S.?,” the answer is “Just say yes.”

D.R.U.G.S. plays Friday, Feb. 24 with Hit the Lights, Like Moths to Flames and Sparks the Rescue at Bogarts. Buy tickets, check out performance times and get venue details here.
