Acclaimed Americana duo Shovels & Rope returned to Cincinnati this year as part of the Tedeschi Trucks Band's Wheels of Soul tour, which played Riverbend’s PNC Pavilion in July. This spring, the twosome is coming back to town, this time for a more intimate headlining show at the Ludlow Garage in Clifton.

Tickets for Shovels & Rope's April 8 concert go on sale tomorrow (Oct. 23) at 10 a.m. via Tickets are $25.

The husband/wife duo of Michael Trent and Cary Ann Hearst have been basking in the critical praise of their fantastic most recent album, By Blood, which has received glowing reviews from the likes of NPR Music, Consequence of Sound, Billboard, American Songwriter, Rolling Stone Country and No Depression for its broadening sonic palette and smart, poetic social commentary.

This summer saw the release of Shovels & Rope: The Movie, a unique concert film that weaves together live footage and a storyline played out by actors. This is the second film project in which the couple has been involved —  2014's documentary about the band, The Ballad of Shovels & Rope, was well received on the indie film festival circuit.
