Indie pop singer Melanie Martinez will make a stop at Andrew J Brady Music Center this summer on her “PORTALS” tour.
Locan fans of the singer will finally be able to see Martinez live after she was slated to perform at Bunbury Music Festival in 2020 before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Martinez announced a tour for her album PORTALS, with a performance in the city set for July 7. According to a press release, the singer will exclusively perform as an otherworldly creature that is a rebirth of her alter ego “Cry Baby,” the main character of Martinez’s debut concept album, Cry Baby.
Martinez originally gained a following by appearing on The Voice in 2012, making it to week five before she was eliminated. After her appearance on the show, Martinez released an EP in 2014 titled "Dollhouse," which featured the RIAA Gold-certified single “Carousel.”
