Here's another depressing sign that summer, in fact, is drawing to a close: The MidPoint Indie Summer Series offers its last go-round Friday night. The season's 15th and final free show features the new Kiss Me Everlasting at 7 p.m. (featuring former and current members of Ruby Vileos, Roundhead and Thee Shams); Matthew Shelton’s Me or the Moon at 8 p.m.; and Kim Taylor, who was named one of Paste Magazine’s "Best Of What’s Next" artists for 2009, at 9 p.m. (pictured). Taylor is playing her first show in town since coming off tour in support of Australia’s Kasey Chambers.

Beer, soft drinks and food are available for purchase, as are band merchandise and MidPoint goodies. Come by the MidPoint booth and say "Hi."

Speaking of MidPoint, we're only three weeks away from the eighth annual MidPoint Music Festival, which will present more than 250 bands on 22 stages in Over-the-Rhine, Downtown and Newport. See the full talent lineup here, volunteer to help out here and buy your three-day wristbands here.

Look for the official MPMF09 event guide in next week's CityBeat (on the streets Sept. 9).
