MidPoint Indie Summer Series Featuring Neon Indian, Wild Nothing, The Minor Leagues and for algnernon

June 11 • Fountain Square

Last Friday marked the kick-off of the free MidPoint Indie Summer series on Fountain Square, a jammed-pack affair headlined by Scottish Indie Pop troupe Camera Obscura. It also marked the first time you could purchase tickets for the MidPoint Music Festival (Sept. 23-25).

While they last, MidPoint three-day passes are available at all MidPoint Indie Summer shows (every Friday) for $29. The passes include access to all of the MPMF showcases as well as entry to the special “secret show,” which only three-day pass holders can attend. Starting July 1, MPMF passes will be available at the MidPoint Web site for $39.

Cincinnati’s The Minor Leagues and for algnernon join national buzz bands Neon Indian (pictured) and Wild Nothing for this Friday's 7 p.m. concert.

If you attend any of the Indie Summer shows, you’ll notice the return of a popular MPMF feature. Cincinnati Bell and Topic Design are returning the popular Twitter/Text Visualizer, which will be broadcast live on the Fountain Square video board. Share your thoughts about any and all things MidPoint by tweeting with the topic hash #mpmf. Cincinnati Bell customers can text 4632.

Some of the announced MidPoint 2010 bands so far include A Place to Bury Strangers, Best Coast, Caribou, Gaby Moreno, Gringo Star, Holy Fuck, Justin Townes Earl, Phantogram, Surfer Blood, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, The Strange Boys, Van Dyke Parks and Tom Tom Club, plus local groups The Sundresses, The Tillers, Seabird, Pomegranates, Shiny and the Spoon and Wussy.

Many more acts will be announced in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on mpmf.com (and all of the MPMF10 social media pages) for the latest updates.
