The holidays are a good time to be a music fan who lives in a town that's harvested a lot of talented musicians. Many of the ones who have moved away come back home for a visit and want to play a show. Bands that live around here and tour a lot might offer local fans a special performance, something often more casual and fun than usual. And the rest of them are working to buy holiday gifts and/or impress their own out-of-town friends by playing a big-time show.
Singer Noah Hunt and guitarist Jason Dennie will perform together on New Year’s Eve with the 420 All-Stars at Stanley’s Pub, the place where the duo initially cut its teeth back in the mid ’90s. The fingerstyle guitar master Dennie (based in Michigan since 1999) and Hunt (singer for the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band since 1997) released their latest acoustic disc, All the Dark Things, earlier this year — NYE will be the first time the two have performed together since its release.
Showtime is 9 p.m. Cool barter system alert: Two or more canned goods will get you a free drink.
