Your favorite bands are back from the dead this weekend at Northside Tavern for “Eat Your Heart Out,” a two-night Halloween concert featuring cover acts pooled from some of the city’s coolest musicians. This year’s roster includes 10 bands split between Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29.

Hosted by local voiceover artist and musician Adam Stone, this will be the fourth year he’s organized a Halloween show at the tavern. This year Stone chose zombies as the theme, which is appropriate since the event is being revived after two years of dormancy due to pandemic. However, he didn’t want to be rude to anyone who lost loved ones and so chose the wording carefully for this show.

“At first I was thinking of calling it some ‘dead’ pun, but you’ve got to walk a little bit of a line here,” Stone says. “You don’t want to be insensitive, but I think, for the most part, people are just ready to fucking party.”

So, “Eat Your Heart Out” it is.

The majority of bands in this year’s lineup are comprised of musicians that don’t perform together regularly – kind of a mix-and-match from a variety of groups.

“It’s not just about the performance,” says Stone, who will be on stage Saturday night in a Tom Petty cover group. “What’s really more fun is the month or two previous, getting together with friends, having rehearsals of these bands and songs you love and just matching up talent; crossing Cincinnati musician streams, if you will.”
