Longtime folk/rock favorites Over the Rhine celebrate the holiday season and a new album with a special weekend of performances, including their annual "holiday homecoming" concert at the Taft Theatre.
The band is offering a special VIP ticket package for the three shows:
• Friday is the premiere performance of Over the Rhine's forthcoming album, The Long Surrender, featuring singer-songwriter Joe Henry (who produced it) and others from the recording sessions. The band will perform the entire album from start to finish; it's tentatively scheduled for a February release. The 8 p.m. show is at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater. There will be no stand-alone tickets available; only VIP package tickets will gain admission.
• Saturday is Over the Rhine's annual homecoming concert at the Taft Theatre. Joe Henry is the opening act. Tickets to the 8 p.m. show are $18-$38 and are available here.
• Sunday is Over the Rhine's annual Sunday Soiree at St. Elizabeth’s in Norwood complete with an acoustic performance, wine, festive food, conversation and more. The event starts at 3 p.m. Admission is $20 (tickets can be ordered here) or via the VIP package.

WNKU (89.7 FM) is offering its own ticket packages for the Over the Rhine weekend that include dinner before the Taft Theatre show on Saturday. The shows conclude WNKU's 25th anniversary concert series and serve as fundraisers for the station.
