The Queen City Blues Alliance Hosts Its First Festival

This weekend at Southgate House Revival, the new org spotlights area artists like Johnny Fink, Ralph and The Rhythm Hounds and North Second Crew, which includes musicians from bands like The Magic Lightnin’ Boys, Speed Hickeys & Elementree Livity Project

This Saturday at The Southgate House Revival (111 E. Sixth St., Newport, southgatehouse.com) is the Queen City Blues Fest, presented by upstart local Blues organization the Queen City Blues Alliance, a local group founded last fall.

The group’s inaugural festival will take place on all three stages of the Northern Kentucky venue. On the main stage (in the Sanctuary room), Jay Jesse Johnson, Johnny Fink & the Intrusion and Columbus, Ohio’s Deuce ’n a Quarter will play. In the Revival Room you can catch Ralph and the Rhythm House, Misterman and the Mojo Band and North Second Crew, which features musicians from bands like The Magic Lightnin’ Boys, Speed Hickeys, Elementree Livity Project and Miss Jacque. The Leo Clarke Band, Brian Keith Wallen and Dayton, Ohio’s Chris Yakopcic will perform on the acoustic stage in the club’s Lounge.

Music begins Saturday at 7 p.m. and tickets are $20 at the door or $15 in advance through ticketweb.com.
