Shiny and the Spoon

May 5 • Southgate House (Lounge)

May 3, 2010 at 2:06 pm

The Southgate House’s “Artist in Residence” series — featuring a local band performing a free show each Wednesday of the month in the venue’s Juney’s Lounge — spotlights ukulele-lovin’ Roots/Folk/Pop duo Shiny and the Spoon for the month of May. Amber Nash and Jordan Neff will team with a different artist each Wednesday this month.

For this Wednesday’s kick-off, the duo is joined by Mike Oberst of local Folk faves The Tillers (who will be playing to a slightly larger audience the following Wednesday, May 12, when they open for Willie Nelson at Riverbend’s PNC Pavilion). For the rest of May, SATS teams with the Rubber Knife Gang May 12, Columbus’ County Line Junction May 19 and Nashville’s The Young Republic May 26.

Music starts at 9:30 p.m. each Wednesday, and admission is free.
