In late May, Cincinnati-bred/California-based Roots/Rock singer/songwriter William Russell Wallace returned to the area on the tour for his acclaimed new album, Dirty Soul. Wallace was based out of Cincinnati for several years, most notably working with his band Billy Wallace and the Virginia Blues, before taking his talents to Idyllwild, California.
While he was back in his old stomping grounds, Wallace — who’s also an award-winning writer of fiction — reconnected with a few of his Cincinnati music friends, like Lemon Sky’s Eric Cronstein, Frontier Folk Nebraska’s Travis Talbert and Sarah Gail Davis (Alone at 3AM), and recorded some new songs. He also made a video with Davis at the Southgate House Revival, featuring the pair singing “You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will.,” a Conor Oberst song from Bright Eyes’ 2002 album Lifted or The Story is in the Soil, Keep Your Ear to the Ground.
Today we are pleased to share the "You Will" video for the first time.
The pair’s cover of “You Will. You? Will. You? Will. You? Will.” will be released as a digital single on Sept. 13, just ahead of Wallace’s latest round of tour dates, which includes shows in Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington and Montana.
