Just two weeks ahead of their second-annual event, organizers of the Overcast Hip Hop Festival — featuring local, regional and national acts — have announced a venue shift.

The event was originally scheduled for Sept. 20-21 at Top Cats, the Corrvyille club with a long history of supporting local Hip Hop and other Alternative/Indie music acts that re-opened last year under new management. But Overcast organizer Nick Mitchell sent out a press release late last week saying the venue informed him they were canceling the booking, just two weeks out from the event.

The press release states that the two-day festival will now take place at Newport, Kentucky's Thompson House.

"Please share this announcement and help get this information out to everyone planning on coming to the fest," the release says. "A big thanks to the new venue for coming to our aid in this bizarre turn of events."

Top Cats currently still has Overcast listed on its official website but it has been removed from the club's Facebook page. (The ticketing page still appears to be live as well.)

Along with live music from independent artists like Triiibe, Vast Aire, The Palmer Squares, Eyenine, Ill Poetic, Raised X Wolves and many others, Overcast also spotlights other elements of Hip Hop culture with a B-Boy/B-Girl dance battle and an MC battle.

The festival just announced the addition of excellent Cincinnati artists Patterns Of Chaos, Trademark Aaron and Roberto.
