Spoiler alert! You won’t really be able to taste any Duveneck at the 20th annual food and wine fundraiser for the Cincinnati Art Museum (953 Eden Park Drive, Mount Adams). In fact, experts generally agree that no one has ever been served a dish prepared with Duveneck. —-
And that’s because “Duveneck” refers to Frank Duveneck (1848-1919), a well-respected painter born in Covington, Kentucky – but, hey, you already knew that, didn’t you?
This year’s event – held 6-9 p.m. Thursday – specifically raises funds to support the renovation of the Museum’s Schmidlapp Gallery, where Roman, Greek, Etruscan and Egyptian artifacts are displayed.
Food and beverages from dozens of restaurants, caterers and wineries will fill the Great Hall and other public spaces – even flowing outside, where the beautiful central Courtyard will be converted into a biergarten featuring the local band Soul Pocket playing Motown, R&B, Soul, Disco, Funk and Rock. A live art and jewelry auction rounds out the excitement.
The cost is $75/person (or $50/person if you’re lucky enough to be under 40). Tickets can be purchased by calling Christina Pfeffer at 513-639-2964. Get more information at the museum’s web site.
