After Thursday’s shooting at the Fifth Third Bank building on Fountain Square, UC’s Hoxworth Blood Center issued a statement saying that it was meeting the needs of the victims, but reiterated the importance of donating blood “to assure an adequate blood supply for community needs.”
Today is a good day to roll up your sleeves and pitch in to help with that assurance. Fifth Third and Hoxworth are teaming up to hold a blood drive on Fountain Square beginning at 9 a.m. The donor bus will be on the Square until 3 p.m. All blood types are welcome. On social media, Fifth Third said, “Thursday’s tragedy reinforces the importance of having blood on hand.”
